What is MFFN?

The Melanesian Farmer First Network (MFFN) is a network of successful grass roots organisations focussed on improving sustainable agriculture and community health for the rural people of the Melanesia countries of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

The aim of the MFFN is to:

Improve the ability of member organisations to develop household food security, community health and livelihoods

Plan and implement self-help initiatives among the communities they work with.

These objectives are approached through the networking of information, advice and training.

The network coordinator has completed PARTNER PLANNING WORKSHOPS took place in Southern Highlands, East Sepik, and Bougainville Provinces of PNG and in Vanuatu in early 2008.

The next network annual training course is planned for Vanuatu in July 2008. The topic proposed is MARKET CHAINS AND FARMER TO MARKET LINKAGES.

The MFFN PROJECT STARTUP WORKSHOP took place at Wewak, PNG, in 2007.
